Trama
Danièle Guènot, divorziata dal marito e con due figli, è una professoressa di lingue presso il liceo di Rouen. Molto giovanile, nonostante i suoi trentadue anni, tratta con molta familiarità i suoi alunni; passa con loro i pomeriggi al bar o li invita in casa propria; con loro prende parte ai moti studenteschi del maggio 1968. I suoi modi e le sue idee colpiscono in modo particolare Gèrard Leguen, un alunno di diciassette anni, figlio di un libraio che milita tra i fautori delle libertà individuali. I coniugi Leguen non tardano a notare che i rapporti tra il figlio e la professoressa diventano sempre più intimi e manifestano energicamente la loro opposizione. La cosa induce il ragazzo ad ingannare i genitori e a passare le vacanze in Italia con Danièle. Gli aspri rimproveri che lo accolgono al ritorno lo inducono a trasferirsi nella casa della donna. Il fatto diviene di dominio pubblico: tutte le famiglie firmano un’accusa indirizzata al preside della scuola, il quale minaccia Danièle di sospensione.
