Trama
In una piccola città dell’Oregon in cui vive, Helen Carleton viene assassinata davanti al suo negozio di animali. Non ci sono testimoni oculari. La donna lascia il marito, Nick Carleton, e tre figli. Dopo tre mesi il detective Joe Moran decide di chiudere ufficialmente il caso classificandolo come irrisolto. La sua decisione non viene accettata dalla famiglia.
