Trama
Un giovane cacciatore di pellicce ritornando al villaggio dopo due anni di assenza, trova la sua fidanzata sposa di un altro uomo. Egli intende ripartire subito ma, sullo stesso battello nel quale si arruola, ha preso posto il marito della sua fidanzata. I due rivali, insieme con un veterano delle cacce polari che comanda la spedizione, svernano tra le insidie delle bufere e nelle dure lotte contro i lupi e gli orsi. È in una di queste che il marito della ragazza scompare, dopo essere stato ferito dalla belva. Il rivale, una volta tornato al paese, è accusato di omicidio, ma è assolto per insufficienza di prove. Solo dopo qualche tempo l’arrivo di altri cacciatori può far riconoscere la sua assoluta innocenza. Egli può sposare la sua antica fidanzata.
