Trama
Nasce Piera, in una famiglia piuttosto sconquassata, almeno secondo la morale corrente: la madre è un specie di ninfomane, una candida amorale, un po’ ingenua e un po’ folle. Il padre è un attivista politico, disorientato dalla vita della moglie che ad ogni occasione lo tradisce, che vive sempre in bilico tra una gelosia inespressa ed una totale passività. Piera cresce in questo ambiente, accompagna la madre nelle sue scorribande sessuali, mentre il padre viene quasi dimenticato; la madre si muove nella sua vita quasi per caso, trascinata dai suoi istinti; la curano con gli elettroshock, ma alla fine, quando Piera, ormai cresciuta, è diventata un’attrice affermata, sarà il padre a morire in manicomio, impazzito per l’amore da lui provato per la moglie, dopo un incontro con la figlia in cui sfiora l’incesto. Eugenia, la madre di Piera, finisce anche lei in manicomio, a consumarsi nella sua dolce follia; li’ Piera andrà a trovarla, ormai diventata, dopo le esperienze dell’infanzia, madre della madre; con lei si recherà sulla spiaggia, e lì, nude, si abbracceranno felici.
