Trama
L’austero pretore Ciccio De Ingras attribuisce il costante aggravarsi del mal di fegato di cui soffre da anni ai periodici scontri in tribunale con l’avvocato Franco Benenato, il quale, con i suoi personalissimi e poco ortodossi metodi di difesa, riesce ogni volta a far valere le ragioni dei propri patrocinati. In seguito il pretore De Ingras ha il sospetto che, in realtà, l’avvocato Benenato non ha mai conseguito la laurea in giurisprudenza: mentre Benenato si dilegua rapidamente, De Ingras sente immediatamente rifiorire in sé la salute perduta. Qualche tempo dopo, il pretore viene trasferito dal tribunale di Roma a quello di Milano. Qui, con sua grande sorpresa, ritrova Benenato divenuto un alto magistrato.
