Trama
Clara, una ricamatrice, da una relazione col conte di Soava ha una figlia, Mary, che crescerà col padre. Mary, divenuta donna, è fidanzata e decide di sposarsi. Clara chiede al conte di fargliela vedere ma lui rifiuta. Nel frattempo Mary è venuta conoscenza di Mary e corre da lei. Quando viene a sapere ce il padre non permetterà mai di starle vicino, rompe il fidanzamento per stare accanto alla madre. Ma Clara, per non essere d’ostacolo, tenta il suicidio.
