Trama
Nella New Orleans degli anni Trenta, nasce un sodalizio d’affari tra un maturo lottatore di strada, Chaney, e un impresario, Speedy, che campa organizzando incontri clandestini di pugilato a pugni nudi. Ibattibile, Chaney porta un bel po’ di soldi nelle tasche proprie e di Speedy, da costui subito dilapidate al gioco e con le donne. Un giorno, ormai pago del denaro vinto, Chaney rompe l’accordo. Quando, però, indebitatosi con degli strozzini, Speedy si caccia in un pasticcio, che potrebbe costargli la vita, l’amico interviene traendolo fuori dai guai. Poi scomparirà nel nulla come dal nulla era apparso.
