Trama
Sam Varner, guida di un distaccamento di cavalleria americana, partecipa alla cattura di un gruppo di Apache scappati dalla riserva: tra costoro c’è Sarah Carver, una donna bianca madre di un bambino meticcio, scampata dieci anni prima ad un massacro e vissuta fin da allora con gli indiani. Sarah, terrorizzata perché nei dintorni si aggira il temibile Kataua – un indiano deciso a riprendersi il bambino il quale è suo figlio – chiede a Sam, che si prepara a partire per il suo ranch nel Nuovo Messico, di accompagnarla fino alla stazione di Silverton, per poter poi proseguire per l’Est. Varner, quando si accorge che Kataua li insegue, offre alla donna e al bambino di seguirlo nel suo ranch, dove vengono successivamente raggiunti da Nick, una guida meticcia, che li avverte della presenza di Kataua nei dintorni. Mentre Sam va ad avvisare dell’incombente pericolo una famiglia di messicani che vive ai confini del ranch, Kataua rapisce Sarah, la quale viene ritrovata sanguinante da Sam e Nick, messisi alla caccia dell’indiano. In un successivo scontro con questi, Nick viene ucciso ma Sam interviene e, dopo una lunga lotta, riesce a sopprimere Kataua.
