Trama
Due avventurieri, Smitopopulus e l’amica Darline, dopo aver rapinato – con l’aiuto di un certo Cornet che si affrettano ad eliminare subito dopo – un milione di dollari, attendono presso un albergo l’opportunità per trasferirsi nell’isola di Tramiros ove dovrebbe trovarsi a loro disposizione un mezzo per fuggire lontano. Ma Livio Morelli, direttore dell’albergo, e Sandra, sua sorella, scoperta la natura degli interessi della losca coppia, decidono di seguirli. Giungono così a Tramiros, nella villa di madame Benoit, ove ad attenderli trovano oltre alla signora ed al suo domestico Jannis, anche il redivivo e malconcio Corbet. Il denaro spinge i sette interessati a schermaglie di ogni genere, a finte alleanze, ad accuse; e ben presto inizia anche una serie di uccisioni compiute da mano ignota. Per primo viene trovato strangolato il signor Smitopopulus; poi Morelli tenta di fuggire con il denaro ma viene ucciso; quindi è la volta di Jannis che è assassinato con un pugnale mentre madame Benoit muore di crepacuore quando Corbet distrugge un suo ritratto giovanile. In fine, quando ormai la polizia sta per sopraggiungere, in una terribile lotta si eliminano Corbet e Sandra, mentre Darline, impazzita, si uccide.
