Trama
Calvin gestisce un negozio di barbiere nel south side di Chicago. Al suo interno vive quotidianamente un’umanità variegata: Eddie, un vecchio barbiere senza più clienti, Jimmy, anche lui barbiere e studente di college, Isaac (il nuovo arrivato), Ricky, un ex galeotto che sta tentando di rifarsi una vita, e Terri, una donna dal carattere forte che, però, non riesce a lasciare il suo fidanzato. Dal canto suo, Calvin ha ereditato dal padre questo faticoso mestiere ma dopo tanto lavoro, con i conti da pagare ed un figlio in arrivo, comincia a vederlo come un peso ed una perdita di tempo.
