Trama
Il film comincia dall’intervento in guerra dell’Italia (1914) per passare poi in rassegna i fatti più drammatici del lungo conflitto: Montenero, San Michele, Carso, Adamello, Gorizia, Podgora, Trentino, ecc. Seguono poi alcune sequenze dedicate alla traversata dell’Isonzo, quindi l’entrata in Gorizia, la guerra in Cadore, la battaglia della Bainsizza, la rotta di Caporetto, la ritirata sul Piave ed i successivi fatti d’arme, fino alla vittoriosa conclusione di Vittorio Veneto. Non mancano inserti dedicati, oltre che alle truppe di terra, all’attività bellica della marina e dell’aviazione.
