Trama
L’ambizioso Sergio di Tula, che aspira a succedere al re Stefano III, raggiunge la città di Dubno con l’intento di ottenere da Jassa, la regina dei Kirghisi, la liberazione della bella principessa Mascia. Jassa annuncia che Mascia è morta in un tentativo di fuga, quindi seduce il guerriero e ne stimola la presunzione, ponendo al servizio di Sergio l’esercito kirghiso. Frattanto Andrea, il fratello di Sergio, ha ottenuto il comando dell’esercito di re Stefano e raggiunge a Dubno il fratello transfuga. Arrestato per ordine di Jassa. Andrea in prigione incontra Mascia, la cui morte era stata comunicata per perfida menzogna. Andrea fugge. Al comando delle sue truppe, sconfigge l’esercito guidato dal fratello. Sergio, prima di morire riconosce il suo tradimento. La pace torna nel regno di Stefano. Spetta a Mascia consolare la tristezza di Andrea.
