Trama
Fronte tedesco, anno 1944. Anche le ragazze vengono arruolate. Il maggiore Felix Khun, medico primario di Berlino, esclude con grande scrupolo le inabili. Questo però non piace ai suoi superiori. Per questo viene spedito in prima linea e le sue due figlie sono forzatamente destinate al fronte russo. Marga capita in un gruppo di radiotelegrafiste, solo bramose di avventure amorose. La sua immediata responsabile alterna discorsi di estremo rigore morale con accoppiamenti di vario genere. Nello stesso reparto Zigett Parzinger, affetta da leucemia, ha sostituito la propria gemella Ursula. L’altra figlia di Felix, Eva, fa parte di un corpo specializzato dell’antiaerea. Durante un attacco viene ferita; è violentata dal maresciallo Koeler ed erra a lungo, la notte, prima di essere arrestata. Intanto la disfatta si profila nel modo più netto. Marga si incontra segretamente con Aliosch, un partigiano, che viene però ben presto catturato e fucilato. Suo padre, il maggiore Khun, è costretto a resistere ad oltranza ai carri armati russi. Salva pure il gruppo delle radiotelegrafiste, che erano state prese dai nemici. Il suo generale però irride il suo eroismo ed abbandona il fronte per salvare la propria pelle.
