Trama
Una famiglia di coloni si reca alla fiera annuale, quest’evento con le sue gare rappresenta per tutti il coronamento dei sogni e delle speranze, vagheggiate durante un anno di duro lavoro. Papà Abele spera che il suo maialetto vinca il premio, sua moglie che venga riconosciuta la superiorità delle sue marmellate, il figlio Willy pregusta la vittoria nel gioco degli anelli, mentre sua sorella Margot sogna ad occhi aperti il principe azzurro. I modesti desideri dei genitori vengono esauditi. Willy invece conosce una simpatica ragazza, di cui si innamora; ma poi scopre che è una cantante ed ha marito. Il disinganno è amaro, ma l’esperienza gl’insegna ad apprezzare ancora di pù il sentimento della ragazza, che al villaggio l’ama fedelmente. Margot incontra il principe azzurro: è un simpatico giornalista, per il quale prova un sentimento, ch’ella crede ricambiato. Ma l’ultima sera Margot dopo attende invano il suo principe che non arriva. Sconsolata torna a casa ma qui una telefonata la consola: è il giornalista che si scusa e le chiede di sposarlo.
