Trama
Antonmatteo Colombo detto Click, fotografo sempre in cerca del “colpo grosso”, che poi manca regolarmente, incontra il giovane Palmambrogio Gualtieroli, spaesato poeta di provincia venuto a Milano in cerca di un editore. Dopo avere approfittato della sua svagatezza per vuotargli il portafoglio, egli lo prende in simpatia e lo ospita in casa propria. Mentre a Click capita di essere picchiato prima dai ladri di un cavallo da corsa, che aveva tentato di fotografare e, poi, per la stessa ragione, da un gruppo di femministe arrabbiate, maggior fortuna non ha Palmambrogio, che, conosciuto un famoso poeta che si è offerto di scrivergli una prefazione al suo libro, s’accorge d’essere finito in cattive mani. Finalmente, fotografando un sequestro di persona, Click mette a segno il colpo che aveva sempre sognato; ma i banditi gli sparano in faccia e lo acciecano. Tuttavia Click non perde il suo ottimismo e, lasciata a Palmambrogio la cura della propria famiglia, parte in cerca di fortuna avendo per compagno soltanto il suo bastone.
