Trama
Bianca, ricca ereditiera, essendo orfana, vive nel suo palazzo con lo zio tutore e la cugina Olga. Bianca è fidanzata a Carlo giovane banchiere; Olga, mentre accarezza la cugina, in realtà ne è gelosa. Un giorno essa si trova nello studio di Paolo, un pittore, che le fa una corte assidua, quando giunge improvvisamente Carlo. Olga si nasconde in fretta, ma dimentica sul divano un monile di Bianca, dono del banchiere, che essa aveva preso di nascosto per adornarsene. Carlo lo vede, crede che Bianca sia l’amante di Paolo e sfida quest’ultimo. Nel duello Carlo resta ferito gravemente; Bianca, credendo che la causa del duello sia stata un’altra, misteriosa donna, entra come novizia in un convento, in Francia.
