Trama
Sam Huston viene inviato dal Presidente Jefferson nel Texas, dove i coloni sono esposti alle violenze delle truppe messicane. Prima di recarsi nel Texas egli si sposa, ma presto il matrimonio risulterà infelice. Nel momento in cui egli sta per essere eletto governatore, la moglie lo lascia. Lo scandalo del divorzio influisce negativamente sulla carriera di Huston, che si ritira a vita privata. Durante questo periodo incontra Miss Lison che, a differenza della moglie, lo comprende e lo sa apprezzare. Dopo che il Messico ha ripreso i suoi assalti contro il Texas, Huston viene richiamato alla guida della lotta contro l’invasore. Dopo la vittoria, Huston sposa Miss Lison e porterà infine il Texas all’unione definitiva con gli Stati Uniti.
